On the occasion of the No-Parking day, promoted by the Municipality of Milan in conjunction with the Festa di via Orti and at the opening of the “Milano Green Week”, the Foundation is organizing two guided tours of its spaces, where the new exhibition “Beyond the garden. Nature in the work of Francesco Somaini” is being set up (27.09.2024-31.05.2025). This gives the opportunity to preview a series of works, including unpublished ones, by the artist, which highlight his great attention to Nature throughout his entire creative activity and in particular in the 1970s. Starting from this decade, Somaini began to deepen his reflection on the relationship between sculpture, architecture and the urban context, resulting in the volume edited together with Enrico Crispolti, Urban urgencies (1972), which includes considerations on the contrast between the natural environment and the modern metropolis. Poetics from which a series of “actions” in the landscape arise, both real and utopian.
