At the Teatro Franco Parenti in Milan, on Tuesday 19 November at 6:30 pm, the presentation of the volume Porta Vittoria, che storia!, edited by Stefania Aleni and published by Quattro, will take place.
A pleasant and useful book for those who want to know and discover an area of Milan rich in history and modernity, through a “virtual walk” in the Porta Vittoria district among its cultural, civil and urban history, walking in time and in the soul of those who lived there. From Piazza Cinque Giornate along XXII Marzo which also overlooks the Monument to the Italian Sailors created by Francesco Somaini in 1967 -, and then north and south of the course, the book describes the most significant places, what there was and what there is or will be, occasionally abandoning itself to vivid memories of the post-war years. A research told in words and full of historical and contemporary images, maps and original drawings.
During the evening there will be speakers:
Stefania Aleni, book curator
Piero Colaprico, journalist and writer
Tommaso Sacchi, Councillor for Culture, Municipality of Milan
Antonio Padoa Schioppa, President ‘Milano Biblioteca del 2000’
Modera Azzurra Maria Sorbi, editor of QUATTRO
They will also be present Gino&Michele e Luisa Somaini, president of Fondazione Francesco Somaini Scultore ETS
